July 9, 2020 Update

Welcome to Thursday - gateway to the weekend for many of our team members.  It has certainly been a busy week, but we feel like we have been getting a lot done.  Hope your week has gone well.

CORONAVIRUS STATS

Nationally, the CDC reports 3,047,671 cases with 132,056 fatalities.

Utah:  27,356 cases (up 601 from yesterday); 1,700 hospitalizations; 205 deaths (up 4 from yesterday)

Utah County: 4,988 cases (up 94 from yesterday); 251 hospitalizations; 27 deaths (no change from yesterday)

NEWS YOU CAN USE

• Governor Herbert announced today an executive order requiring mask wearing in K-12 schools beginning with the new school year.  If you don't have masks for your school-aged kids, you might want to get orders in now.  If you have an adventurous streak, here are some simple patterns for sewing them.  
• A statistician called Simon Ramo who was fascinated by tennis, had the idea that the way to succeed was to stop trying to win, and it turns out one of his insights about the game is very useful for life in general. He found that “In order to succeed it is necessary to know how to avoid the most likely ways to fail.” 
• KSL has created an article with Top 5 things to do in Provo Canyon this summer. If you haven't done some of them, I would recommend it!
