Well, Utah hit a high watermark today in terms of new positive Covid-19 tests. The higher we go, the more likely it is that we will have a close relationship with someone who tested positive. We have had some neighbors test positive and have serious symptoms, but we now have a niece whose family is all sick with the illness - apparently coming from - wait for it - a college aged daughter!
KSL had a really great article yesterday that breaks down the demographics from the current spike in positive cases. I found this to be really helpful data at understanding what is happening by age group in positive tests and hospitalizations.
CORONAVIRUS STATS
Nationally, the CDC reports 6,571,867 cases with 195,053 fatalities.
Utah: 59,747 cases (up 747 from yesterday); 3,381 hospitalizations; 437 deaths (up 1 from yesterday)
Utah County: 13,837 cases (up 309 from yesterday); 454 hospitalizations; 53 deaths (no change from yesterday)
