November 3, 2020 Update

Election Day is finally here!  I'm not sure about you, but I can't wait for the campaign ads (especially the negative ones) to end during my daily 10:00 p.m. news fix!  We are continuing to monitor developments related to the election, and we will keep you posted as things develop over the next several days.

CORONAVIRUS STATS

Nationally, the CDC reports 9,268,818 cases with 230,893 fatalities.

Utah:  119,375 cases (up 1,669 from yesterday); 5,665 hospitalizations; 620 deaths (up 6 from yesterday)

Utah County:  31,095 cases (up 424 from yesterday); 1,039 hospitalizations; 84 deaths (up 1 from yesterday)

NEWS YOU CAN USE

• For those Hallmark movie fans out there, be sure to look for our beautiful Provo in some of their upcoming Christmas movies!
• Rock Canyon Elementary school has gone above and beyond to create a fun experience for their students, transforming their school into "Hogwarts" over the weekend to give their students a Halloween treat.
• The party on Halloween night in Utah County will likely have consequences for the organizers according to Utah County Sargent Spencer Cannon, though they have apologized for the large turnout, stating that they only invited a smaller group.
• If you heard the alarm go off today, there is no need to worry, it is tested every Election Day.

Today, Mayor Kaufusi:

• Met with the Customer Service Director
• Held a meeting with a local reverend
• Participated in the Utah County Covid-19 Economic Recovery Committee meeting
• Met with emergency services representatives
• Held a meeting to discuss HR policies

FUN STUFF

I love to watch good football games, and this little touchdown celebration from the Colt's Nyheim Hines is one of the good moments in this year's strange NFL season.  The only thing that could be better is if he was a Kansas City Chief!  If he's looking for a career change, he could probably succeed in a career as a gymnast.
