April 6 2021 Update

Once again, I found myself in back to back to back meetings.  The days don't seem to get any easier.  And while the weather last night and this morning (hail storms woke me up last night) remind me that we aren't through with winter, the forecast seems to be bringing more spring-like conditions the rest of the week.  

CORONAVIRUS STATS

Nationally, the CDC reports 30,596,830 cases with 554,420 fatalities.

Utah:  387,814 cases (up 300 from yesterday); 15,656 hospitalizations; 2,137 deaths (up 4 from yesterday)

Utah County:  93,336 cases (up 14 from yesterday); 2,533 hospitalizations; 369 deaths (up 1 from yesterday)

NEWS YOU CAN USE

• Well, March Madness has come to a close with the win last evening by the Baylor Bears over the Gonzaga Bulldogs.  As much as I have come to love the BYU/Gonzaga rivalry, I was cheering for the Zags yesterday.  But Baylor dominated from start to finish in their first ever men's NCAA basketball championship.  
• After moving the All-Star Game from Atlanta in protest of Georgia's new election reform law, Major League Baseball will be hosting the game at Coors Field in Denver.  
• An unopened copy of Nintendo's Super Mario Brothers that was purchased in 1986 and forgotten about recently sold at auction for $660,000.
• The blockbuster "Godzilla vs. Kong", which topped the box office, is the movie that some are calling the ‘welcome back’ of sorts for an industry that has been working its way back from the brink for over a year”.
