June 1, 2021 Update

We were able to participate in a remarkable event on Thursday - the opening of Provo's Unlimited Play Center at North Park.  What a phenomenal new asset to Provo!  The playground is for all children, but with significant play resources for disabled children and those with cognitive challenges.  I hope you will stop by and take a look - and bring your kids and grandkids with you.  It truly is a resource unlike any other.  And you can check out the link below to learn more about the project.  

Today is also the first day for filing for this year's municipal election.  You can follow the candidates who are filing daily at the City's election webpage.  Also, be watching for an email in the next week or so with guidelines for employee political involvement based on state law and city ordinances.

Nationally, the CDC reports 33,093,238 cases with 591,539 fatalities.

Utah:  406,282 cases; 16,835 hospitalizations; 2,302 deaths

Utah County:  96,949 cases; 2,697 hospitalizations; 394 deaths

NEWS YOU CAN USE

• This month is LGBTQIA Pride Month, National Camping Month, National Headache and Migraine Awareness Month, National PTSD Awareness Month and National Safety Month. It is also National Say Something Nice Day.
• One way companies are concealing higher prices: Smaller packages. Consumers are absorbing higher labor and materials costs in the form of thinner rolls, smaller cans and lighter bags, and experts say such ‘shrinkflation’ will ramp up in the months to come.
• The new Unlimited Play Center's grand opening was a big success last week. If you haven't checked it out, you should!

Some of you know that I am passionate about good parenting.  Looking back over the years, I know how fast they seem to grow up from this vantage point, but how slowly it seems to go when you are in the midst of the fray.  But I hope you enjoy this little video - just as a reminder not to waste a moment or a hug.  And whether the child is yours, or is being parented by a friend or family member, the moments are precious.
