March 11 2021 Update

Happy Thursday!  My day didn't start out too well.  Mostly because my car didn't start this morning!  Battery was dead and really dead.  So, a quick run to O'Reilly and a half hour to get the old one out and the new one in set me back a bit this morning.  Add to that a quick run to Revere Health for some lab work (which is never fun) and I was ready to go back to bed and curl up under my electric blanket.  But, alas, I had meetings scheduled pretty much all day, so that wasn't going to work.  But I am excited about the weekend coming up.  I hope you have some good plans.  

CORONAVIRUS STATS

Nationally, the CDC reports 29,052,862 cases with 527,726 fatalities.

Utah:  376,973 cases (up 646 from yesterday); 15,014 hospitalizations; 2,015 deaths (up 23 from yesterday)

Utah County:  91,265 cases (up 138 from yesterday); 2,468 hospitalizations; 345 deaths (up 2 from yesterday)

NEWS YOU CAN USE

• Today is National 311 (3/11) Day, and offers an annual reminder that 311 is a resource for communities around the country to connect with their city and non-emergency services. So take a moment to thank our 311 department for all they do for the city!
• The coronavirus relief package has $3.8 billion in direct payments heading to Utahns out of the $1.9 trillion bill.
• All Utah adults should be able to receive the coronavirus vaccine starting April 1, according to the governor's office.
• The 3-year-old Silicon Valley startup company called Belong has announced plans to establish a secondary headquarters in Utah and hire 100 new employees to staff it.
• Merrick Garland was approved as the U.S. Attorney General on a 70-30 vote. Utah's senators split their votes, with Romney voting for and Lee voting against.

• Held a budget meeting

FUN STUFF

So, here is a two part video that answers the question "What it would be like to share an apartment with superheroes from the Avengers?".  (I know that has been at the top of your mind for years now)  These made me laugh.
