March 25 2021 Update

It has been another busy day, but kind of a fun diversion has been a tour of the new Orem Family Fitness Center.  It has been said that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," and you can certainly see a lot of Provo Rec's influence in their design.  As the flagship recreation center in the region (and arguably the country), we are the trendsetters.  But they added a few cool features like a gaming lounge for video gamers, a one story ramp to access the indoor track that keeps runners separate from fitness patrons, and a very nice one story stainless steel slide for adults and teens.  Congrats to our neighbors for keeping the standards high for recreation centers in our valley.

I also wanted to mention the upcoming open houses for the City's new General Plan project.  Employees are welcome to participate in these events.  More details and information about registering to participate are included below.

Nationally, the CDC reports 29,834,734 cases with 542,584 fatalities.

Utah:  383,260 cases (up 527 from yesterday); 15,379 hospitalizations; 2,088 deaths (up 6 from yesterday)

Utah County:  92,525 cases (up 105 from yesterday); 2,514 hospitalizations; 359 deaths (up 2 from yesterday)

So, I have to admit I am not a singer, and karaoke - well - not in my wheelhouse.  But I love a good prank, especially on people who are having a good time at a karaoke bar.  So, if you are a Jon Bon Jovi fan, and are OK with listening to terrible karaoke, this video is for you!
