April 26, 2021 Update

I hope you had a great weekend.  We are starting another household project - my wife and my oldest daughter have amazing ambition, and I just get to go along for the ride.  

Several members or our executive team are in Denver for the next few days.  We are doing some reconnaissance and holding meetings with a potential development partner for the redevelopment of the City Center block after we move into our new building next year.  We are also spending part of the day today in Ft. Collins learning about their parking management operation (a high priority for our Municipal Council), their sustainability efforts, and other programs where they excel.  We have a lot in common with Ft. Collins, and have built a relationship with many of their staff over time.  Lots of meetings today and tomorrow.

Nationally, the CDC reports 31,848,068 cases with 568,969 fatalities.

Utah:  395,677 cases; 16,070 hospitalizations; 2,183 deaths

Utah County:  94,932 cases; 2,591 hospitalizations; 375 deaths

NEWS YOU CAN USE

• The results are in for the survey of Dixie State's new name, with a preference for its current name, and a couple other top contenders like St George State and Deseret State.
• Amelia Powers has been elected to serve as the new County Commissioner, replacing Tanner Ainge as he moves up to the state capital.
• A cheerleader’s Snapchat rant has lead to a Supreme Court case on student speech. Because it is somewhat rare for the justices to take a student speech case, this indicates that they are determining the standards that will apply for a long time.

FUN STUFF

Baseball season is in full swing, and this recent Studio C sketch answers one of my big questions about major league baseball - what do all the signs mean?  I love to watch professional (and even college) baseball because of all the strategy going on during a game.  And now I know that the signs are not all about strategy.
