We are rapidly approaching the Fourth of July weekend. For many of us, it is a time of celebration and family. For many more of us, it is the busiest weekend of the year when we build up extra overtime or comp time, when we work while our family celebrates. For everyone who is doing so much to protect 300,000 people on our parade route, patrol the foothills for fire protection, keep our parks safe and clean, make sure water and power flow freely, and clean up after our community events - thanks so much for your sacrifice and service-orientation. You are the ones who make the quality of life in our community great so our residents can enjoy their personal celebrations!
For those who aren't working, I hope you will get to participate in some events of the Freedom Festival. For the next few days, there is a lot going on that reminds us of the great nation we call home.
