Happy Thursday! I hope your day is going well. We had the opportunity for our monthly walkthrough of the new city hall and public safety facility. Things are looking great! We have furniture in on the 2nd floor, the dispatch center is fully furnished and just waiting for connection from the Utah Communications Authority for the 911 lines before fully moving in. Things are rapidly reaching conclusion prior to the gradual move through June and July and the ribbon cutting on July 2.
We also have several big changes coming up - one of which is related to the move. We will be upgrading our phone system to Ring Central, which is a much better technology than we currently have. The new phone system will have a ton of new features - some of which will be available immediately, and some will deploy in the fall. Think easy conference calling, retrieving voice mail from your desktop or laptop computer, having your office phone number follow you to various devices, etc. The initial go live is scheduled for May 18, so keep watching your email and the City’s intranet site at
home.provo.org for more information.
With new federal requirements, and as conditions of continuing to insure the City against cyberattack, we are implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your web access to email and other Microsoft programs. We will be using Duo for that service, looking very much the same as how we log into Workday. Initial changes will occur next week, with more changes coming in the next few weeks. You should have received an email from Tyler Dennis with information about this change. This is also an exciting development that will help protect our systems from intrusion from outside hackers.
Last week, Provo Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire on Grandview Hill. As our firefighters were responding, they noticed a line of small children who gathered across the street to watch them put out the fire and clean up. A couple of our firefighters went over to the kids, gave them kid-sized fire hats and helped them get up on the back of one of the responding vehicles for some photos. It is always a great thing when we can have a positive interaction with Provo’s residents (including the kids) and help them see the City as their ally.

FUN STUFF
Here are this week's favorite memes. I appreciate Dixon and Amber coming up with last week's. They know me way too well - the selection was awesome!
Have a great weekend, all. Take care, stay safe and we will see you next week.
